1910 Dominguez Meet Poster and Pennant

The 1910 Los Angeles International Aviation Meet was held on Dominguez Mesa, and has become known as the "Dominguez Meet." It was the first aviation meet (and the first international aviation meet) held in the U.S., just three months after the first international aviation meet ever held, in Reims, France. Lincoln Beachey and his brother, Hillery, both attended the Dominguez Meet, Lincoln on a racing airship and Hillery in the Gill-Dosh Biplane. The Dominguez Meet, which featured Glenn Curtiss, French aviator Louis Paulhan, Charles Willard and Charles Hamilton, was the true beginning in the U.S. of great aeroplane exhibitions and international aviation meets.
